Gay Old Time
There's something so nostalgic and comforting about those classic holiday lights, especially when they’re a little mismatched. The way they glow softly around the roofline, giving everything a warm, festive feeling, just feels like home. And Frosty on the porch—there’s something about those plastic figures that just scream holiday magic, even if they’re a bit weathered. It’s like they carry all the joy of those moments, year after year.
I wanted to reproduce this feeling in this year's holiday card. I first printed the linocut of the lights completed in black. Then with 5 more passes, a new color used each time, I moved a woodblock circle around the print to give it that glow. I just love these cards and I hope you do too.
5 x 7 greeting card, blank inside with envelope included. Each card in sealed plastic, just in case you wanted to give it as a gift.
